KVK Ri Bhoi under ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam organized farmers training on “Azolla application for soil Health management” and three demonstrations on soil sample collection, Azolla use and biofertiliser application on 4th June 2026 as a part of national flagship programme "Khet Bachao Abhiyan"(Save the Farm Campaign) from 1-30th June 2026 with 15participants including 3male and 12 female Sohkyndur village of Umsning block in Ri Bhoi district. The farmers were trained to enhance their capacity in the use of balanced fertilizers, green manure, and organic/biological products. The team led by Dr.Popiha Bordoloi, SMS(Soil Science) and Smt.Eliza C Syiemlieh, SMS (Home Science) along with Dr. Koushik Bag Scientist (Agricultural Physics), ICAR Umiam and district official Shri. Heipormi Papang, ADO, Umsning C&RD Block.
